1. "All persons attending the Kings ball DS championships, whether as spectators, competitors, officials or guests of the organizer, shall be bound by the national dance counsel of America inc. rules, by participating in the event automatically become obligated to adhere to them."
2. "No responsibility for loss or theft of articles left in changing rooms, ballroom, or hotel can be accepted by the organizer, the NDCA, nor the Sheraton Newark Airport and neither can they be held liable for injury sustained by persons attending the kings ball dancesport championships.everyone attends at his or her own risk."
3. Only certified checks, cashiers checks, or money orders will be accepted. all personal checks will be returned!
4. Teachers are cautioned not to enter two students in the same category, and there will be no substituting one student for another.
5. Material should be based on n.d.c.a. syllabus, Fred astaire syllabus, or Arthur Murray syllabus. international is restricted to the i.s.t.d. syllabus.
6. There will be no continuity style in the bronze American smooth division.
7. An invigilator will be used for closed categories. these categories will be strictly supervised and competitors committing infractions will be disqualified.
8. All professional competitors, including Pro-am teachers, are required to hold a current reg. card from NDCA. To reg., write to Lee Wakefield, 263 Richards Blvd., Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah 84062. Include your NDCA Number on your entry form to facilitate reg. requirements. 9. Due to NDCA rules, no video taping or filming will be allowed; however, a professional video company may be on hand to video your dancing.
10. Showcase (solo exhibition) is not to exceed 2.5 minutes. groups - not to exceed 3.5 minutes. music will be cut!
11. A student may dance in two consecutive divisions; ie, in Pre-Bz Waltz and Bz 1 Swing, or in Open Bz ChaCha and Silver 1 ChaCha. And, he may also dance an open division. If one of his consecutive divisions is open bz, then he may dance the next open division, open silver.
12. The organizer reserves the right to merge or cancel any category with less than three (3) entries.
13. Late Entries (received after “due date” identified on entry forms) may be accepted at the organizer's discretion for an additional fee of $10 per dance.
14. Cancellations received in writing prior to Nov. 17th will be refunded less a $25 cancellation fee per person. Any refunds due will be made within thirty (30) days following the competition date.
15. Dress code: pro/am American & international newcomer Rhythm & Latin men - dark dress pants, white long sleeve dress shirt, or turtle neck. (vest or jacket optional) ladies - cocktail dresses. no Latin costumes.
Smooth & Standard men - dark suits, white Shirts and tie, or tuxedos. ladies - cocktail dresses no ballgowns.
Amateur American & international novice events costumes allowed but not mandatory.
16. Smoking will not be permitted in the ballroom.
